Carded
Wow! It's been a while since I last posted here, but I'm back with a creative DIY project. I was inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Cupcakes & Cashmere, specifically the fun DIY stationary post. This summer, I'm finally attempting to be more creative and make some of the adorable crafts I constantly repin on my "stuff to make" board on Pinterest.
When I saw how easy and creative making your own cards can be, I ventured off to Michael's, my one stop shop for all arts & craft needs. Blank cards are perfect because they're a blank canvas and you can customize it to however you want. At Michael's, I picked up a value pack of blank cards, stamps, stickers, and more. To add to my stash of crafting supplies, I paid a trip to Sticker Planet located within The Grove Farmers Market. I have no idea why I never gone in before! It is literally a shop filled with stickers. Birthday, graduation, wedding, etc.; you name it, they have it. I was in sticker paradise. I haven't been surrounded or that fascinated by stickers since I was seven years old, when I would collect stickers in my sticker book and guard them with my life. Resisting my urge to buy everything in sight, I settled on some stickers that would be perfect for birthday cards.
The 3D stickers I picked up from Michael's add dimension and spruce up a plain, old, boring card. I love that they can make that same plain card seem like a fancy store-bought card. When in fact you made it yourself! Whereas, adding a picture of my friend instantly personalizes the card specifically for him or her. The stickers are also fun to work with because you don't have to worry about glue or whether it will fall off, and since they lay flat you don't have to worry about weird bulges in your card.
Use your creativity and you can make fun and unique cards perfect for any occasion!
