A Touch of Sparkle

A couple of months ago some friends and I were shopping at Urban Outfitters when I spotted these black suede pumps. On sale. There was only one pair and it was in my size, but did I really need them? I shopped around some more, but kept finding myself checking to see if anyone else had snagged them. I knew I couldn't part with them and was even happier to score an extra 50% off!

I was instantly drawn to these shoes because I knew they would make a simple cap-toe DIY. At first I considered going the easy route by spray painting them gold, but in the end I decided to add some sparkle in my life - in the form of glitter.

Instructions:

  1. Measure 2" from the base of the toe and tape across, leaving the area you want painted exposed. If you're a messy painter, you may also want to tape under the shoe too.

  2. Create your paint mixture, I eyeballed it but I suggest using 1 part Mod Podge and 3 parts glitter.

  3. Start painting! Paint a coat and let it dry. Repeat. It may take multiple coats depending how much coverage you like or your shoe needs. Just keep painting until you’re satisfied.

  4. Let it dry overnight.

  5. Remove the tape and get ready to take the town with your chic pair of glitter cap-toe heels!
