Urban Dweller

While we were having lunch at Manas Indian Cuisine on Monday, they have a great $10 AYCE lunch buffet by the way, E brought up the idea of heading out to Buffalo Exchange to sell our old clothes and make a bit of spending money. Although I didn't have much to sell, she cleaned out her closet and was ready with a huge bag full of tops and dresses. As first time sellers, we were anxious, bright-eyed, and curious as to how the process would work. However, we would soon be disappointed. Although many of her clothes were of good quality, the "buyer" seemed to be focused on the item's brand name and eventually passed on everything. Really?! I thought that was incredibly superficial! Regardless we stuck around and tried to find something so the entire trip wouldn't go to waste. As we browsed the shop, we noted that most of the items there weren't exactly cheap. I only saw a handful of brand name items for a reasonable price, otherwise I could probably get the same stuff at the mall!

At least we didn't leave empty-handed because A found a couple tops that were so her! The loose, flowy tops in these fun and colorful prints are exactly something I could see her wearing. Paired with a bandeau and shorts, it would make a super cute summer outfit!

Something I did notice about Buffalo Exchange was that they were into Urban Outfitters products, like the silence + noise tank A got. I have heard that this part of La Brea was very hipster, so I guess that's what they were primarily interested in. Then I might as well buy a bunch of sale stuff from Urban and resell it here! Sigh.

Overall, our visit to Buffalo Exchange was a bit of a fail because much of the stuff they were selling were about the same price you would pay for in store. I did find some brand name items like French Connection, Topshop, etc., but they weren't exactly my style or affordable. I might give this place another shot, but I probably wouldn't sell anything here unless it were from Urban Outfitters or brand name.
