Winter Wonderland
Last month I ditched LA's wannabe winter for a real one in Denver, CO. I knew it was going to be cold, but like a true Southern Californian I was totally caught off guard to the snow and negative degree weather. Regards I bundled up in plenty of layers and still had a blast exploring the city with my friends. Here's some places we visited that I highly recommend you check out the next time you're in the Mile-High City.
EAT
Snooze // The futuristic decor reminds me of a breakfast joint the Jetsons would frequent. I recommend getting there early to avoid the wait. Of course I had to get my favorite brunch item, eggs benedict. But if you have a sweet tooth I recommend trying their various pancakes and OMG! French Toast.
Jelly Cafe // Love the vintage and whimsical vibe of this cafe! Their made to order donut bites are perfect to share at the end of your meal. Try the BBLTT (Bacon jam, brie, lettuce, tomato, turkey) and you'll want to purchase a jar of their bacon jam yourself. Trust me, I almost did.
PLAY
Museum of Contemporary Art // By far, my favorite museum we visited during this trip. Don't miss "There" by Pae White (the camera does not do it justice) and the Bubble Garden.
Denver Museum of Nature & Science // A fun museum with plenty of interactive exhibits, perfect for kids or people who like to touch things (aka me). If you go please go up to the 4th floor Sky Terrace, unfortunately it was closed for us but it's suppose to have the best view of Denver.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre // Absolutely stunning. Since it's the middle of winter there were no shows playing, but the view is gorgeous and worth the trek.
I was really surprised by how much I loved Denver and would love to go back, just maybe not in the winter.
