Waking Up in Vegas

This past weekend was such a blur and coming back to a jam-packed week meant that my blog got put on the back burner. Regardless, I was thrilled to be able to celebrate three different birthdays in Vegas last weekend.

As usual Vegas did not disappoint as we returned to our tried and true favorites along with exploring new spots. Here's some of the highlights from our trip and what I recommend the next time you find yourself in Las Vegas.

Nightclubs:Marquee and XS. Both ah-mazing clubs and they always have the best DJs. The only drawback to Marquee is the never-ending metal staircase. For girls, when you're in a short dress, heels and a bit tipsy; it can literally be the most difficult task in the world.

Food: For buffets, my favorite is Wicked Spoon for their modern twist and cute presentation, but what actually won me over is their mac & cheese bar and humongous chocolate covered strawberries. Sometimes you just have a hankering for a good ol' burger and fries and Bachi Burger lived up to their claim as being the best burgers in Las Vegas. Not only do they have a huge variety of burgers including angus beef, chicken, fish, crab and more, but their fries and flavorful dipping sauces are just as delicious as the burgers themselves. Btw, their website says they're opening up a location in West LA this fall. I. Can't. Wait.

If you're up for a hunt I suggest finding the Secret Pizza spot at the Cosmopolitan. Upon finding this hidden gem, you're rewarded with their delicious pizza, which I find it tastes even better cause it came from a "secret spot." Finally no visit to Vegas would be complete without a meal at Earl of Sandwich. For just $6 you get a hot, fresh sandwich that hits the spot anytime of the day - which is perfect because they're open 24/7 and they taste especially well after a night of clubbing.

Explore: During the day I love walking around the strip and visit other hotels and shops. Some of my favorites include World of Coca-Cola (try the Around the World sampling!), M&M's World, Bellagio water show and indoor garden. Or get your shop on at the Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood.

Essentially that's our Vegas trip in a nutshell, eat and dancing the calories away at night. And I won't be surprised if we find ourselves out in the desert soon, after all my birthday is coming up...
